Asia Minor, (modern-day Turkey). Location: London, the British Museum, room 22. This full and
almost complete statue was the cult statue from the Demeter Sanctuary at Knidos.

4. Relief of Demeter, Persephone, and Triptolemos:
'The Grand Relief,' from the
Temple of Demeter at Eleusis, 5thc BCE, National Archeological Museum, Athens.
The relief illustrates Demeter handing her grain missionary, Triptolemos what was
probably a gold sheaf of grain. Persephone is crowning him. The crown and sheaf
of grain are missing from this very beautiful relief.
